Dear Parents:
We are excited to announce the 2nd annual LMES Read-a- Thon….”Reading is a Slam Dunk.” This is a fun and exciting way to bring our parents, teachers, and students together to promote the importance of reading. This program will emphasize the link between reading and learning, while raising funds for our school.
Our Read-a-Thon will encourage teachers and parents to spend time each day reading. We are requesting that each student set a goal, and submit the Reading Pledge Form included in this packet. By asking sponsors to pledge their support, not only will the children enjoy the benefits of reading, or being read to, they will also support various needs at our school. 100% of Read-a-Thon donations will go towards enriching Lone Mountain student’s educations and classrooms. This money will help continue to make LMES one of the best schools in the Valley!
IMPORTANT READ-A-THON DATES
January 24th – February 5th: Set reading goals, select books to be read, and collect pledges
February 6th- 24th: Read, Read, Read
February 6th: All School Kick off Assembly
February 15th: Barnes and Noble Book Jacket Art Show and California Pizza Kitchen Night
February 17th: Wear your favorite team jersey/read in day
February 24th: Read- a-Thon Conclusion
February 24th- March 1st: Collect and submit donations
March 2nd: Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! Awards will be given to the top donators per grade.
**Throughout the month there will be class incentives to keep our students motivated**
